Scaling from pilot to SOP

Faculty name: Ian Yong Hoe Tan

In this module, Prof Ian explains what it takes to move agentic AI from promising pilots to enterprise-scale deployment. You'll examine how organisations design, operationalise, govern and scale agentic workflows while avoiding common pitfalls that prevent successful adoption.

Through real-world examples and practical frameworks, you'll learn how to plan pilots, build scalable operating models, choose between centralised and federated approaches, evolve SOPs and KPIs and create the foundations required for sustainable AI-driven transformation.

Learning Outcomes

Course Goals-1.pngProgramme outcome addressed this module:

  • Plan, run and scale Agentic AI pilots into operational workflows

Module Outcomes.pngBy the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Explain why many AI pilots fail to scale successfully in organisational settings.
  • Differentiate between centralised, federated and hybrid approaches to managing AI workflows.
  • Identify operational requirements needed to scale AI workflows safely, including monitoring, ownership, rollback plans and SOP updates.
  • Apply appropriate KPIs and governance checks to evaluate AI-enabled operational workflows.
  • Describe the stages of AI workflow maturity from experimentation to scaled operational use.

Before viewing the learning videos, we suggest reviewing the module's activities to gain context and achieve better comprehension. Take a few moments to explore what you'll be required to complete this module before diving into the learning videos.
