 Module Outcomes.pngLearning Outcomes Addressed

  • Explain the role of foundation models and large language models in enabling modern AI capabilities.
  • Interpret the implications of AI-native economics, such as increased productivity and reduced time-to-output.

Before You Begin — Accessing NotebookLM

  1. Open NotebookLM using your web browser.
Website: https://notebooklm.google.com Links to an external site.
  2. Sign in using your Google/Gmail account.
  3. Create a new notebook.
  4. Upload or import the provided source materials into the notebook.
You may upload PDFs, Google Docs, websites, notes, or copied text.
  5. Once the sources are added, use the chat panel to begin interacting with the material.

What You’ll Do

Use NotebookLM to explore the provided materials and observe how AI synthesis influences your thinking, attention, and judgment.

Your goal is not to summarise the content.
Your goal is to notice patterns, tensions, risks, or signals that become visible through AI-supported exploration.

Step 1 — Explore

Use NotebookLM freely.

Follow:

  • What surprises you
  • What feels important
  • What creates confusion or tension
  • What keeps resurfacing

Cues

  • What ideas seem connected unexpectedly?
  • What patterns keep appearing?
  • What feels amplified or minimised by AI synthesis?
  • What are you paying attention to that you normally may not notice?

Step 2 — Notice

Identify ONE insight from your exploration.

Choose one:

  • A hidden trend
  • A contradiction or tension
  • A second-order effect
  • A hidden risk

You must connect the insight back to the source material.

Cues

  • What became clearer after AI synthesised the information?
  • What might others overlook?
  • What assumptions are being challenged?
  • What downstream effect could emerge from this?

Step 3 — Decide

Make one directional leadership call for the next 2–3 years.

This is not a prediction exercise.
It is a judgment exercise.

Cues

  • What would you now bet for or against?
  • What capability may become critical?
  • What leadership behaviour may become dangerous?
  • What would you act on differently after this exploration?

Rules:

  • No numbers
  • No hedging
  • Make a clear directional call

Reflection

How did AI synthesis influence what you noticed, questioned, or ignored during this activity?

Estimated Duration: 30 minutes

NOTE: This is a practice activity and will not be graded or impact your programme completion. However, we strongly encourage participation for a more holistic learning experience.
