Vibe Coding Advanced
Faculty name: Ian Yong Hoe Tan
Focus: In this module, Prof Ian focuses on moving beyond simple AI-generated prototypes to building more capable and connected applications. You will explore how APIs, connectors and external data sources enable AI-powered applications to interact with other systems and services. The module also examines how to design multi-step workflows that combine user inputs, AI processing and outputs while selecting appropriate platforms based on business needs, complexity and integration requirements.
Programme outcome addressed this module:
- Identify and prioritise high-impact Agentic AI opportunities across business functions
- Plan, run and scale Agentic AI pilots into operational workflows
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Compare different vibe coding platforms based on use case, complexity and integration capabilities.
- Explain how APIs enable applications to interact with external services and data sources.
- Build a simple AI-powered application that uses an external API to retrieve or process information.
- Design a basic multi-step application workflow that combines user inputs, AI processing and outputs.
- Identify how connectors, tools and data sources can extend AI applications beyond standalone prototypes into functional workflows.
